FLUORINATED DERIVATIVES OF A POLYASPARTAMIDE BEARING POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL CHAINS AS OXYGEN CARRIERS

Abstract In this paper the synthesis and characterization of new fluorinated polymers based on a polyaspartamide bearing polyethylene glycol (PEG) chains, are reported. The starting material was the α,β-poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl)- dl -aspartamide (PHEA), a water soluble and biocompatible polymer, that has been derivatized with both polyethylene glycol (with a molecular weight of 2000 Da) and 5-pentafluorophenyl-3-perfluoroheptyl-1,2,4-oxadiazole. By varying the amount of the fluorinated oxadiazole, three samples have been prepared and characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR, 19F NMR and UV–VIS spectroscopy. Cascade complex formation by phosphate in the cobalt(II)/[30]aneN10 anaerobic system

Abstract The interaction of phosphate with the mono- and binuclear cobalt(II) complexes of [30]aneN 10 (1,4,7,10,13,16,19,22,25,28-decaazacyclotriacontane) has been studied by potentiometry in 0.15 mol dm −3 NaClO 4 solution at 298.15 K under anaerobic conditions. Use of nanostructures as oxygen carriers in chemical looping combustion

The usage of fossils fuels has increased carbon dioxide emissions, and the carbon dioxide is responsible for global warming and sea level rising. One of the most promising ways of carbon capturing from the power plants is chemical looping combustion (CLC). CLC is based on the alternating oxidation and reduction reactions on the air and fuel reactors. Oxygen and energy needed for combustion between the reactors is transferred by an oxygen carrier. Oxygen carrier is usually made of metal or metal oxide. One big hindrance towards commercial use of CLC is slow reaction kinetics of oxygen carriers.
